Someone Has Hacked VIZ Media’s X Account

If you thought VIZ Media’s X (formerly Twitter) handle was tweeting some weird things, you’re not alone. Someone has hacked the company’s account, and VIZ is working on getting this fixed. The company, which releases both manga and anime, has publicly confirmed the hack.

If you check out the VIZ handle now, there are tweets from “Safety” and “Engineering,” some of them writing pro-X materials and stuff on Grok, X’s AI assistant. The last tweet from the company is about their new manga Firefly Wedding.

There had previously been posts about “$VIZ” Digital Token, referencing $VIZ token. $VIZ token and VIZ Media might share part of a name, but they are two entirely different things. Those posts have been successfully removed.

VIZ Media did not give an indication on when it thinks its X issue will be resolved. So as long as VIZ is tweeting odd things, you can safely assume the hacking issue hasn’t been fixed yet.

This comes shortly after news of Crunchyroll admitting that some login credentials of theirs had made their way online. Crunchyroll says it’s fixed that problem.
